Continuing the visual language I explored with my recent painting “Memoir”, “Stuck” is about the experience of being an outsider. This is idea of the “outsider” of course can mean something different to each viewer, but is likely something many people can relate to. With the painting, I wanted to create a sense of being overwhelmed and overlooked as well as a feeling of chaos and claustrophobia. At the same time, I hope to express a sense of defiance and independence, and a feeling determination and resilience.
